Bout of Books 9.0 Read-A-Thon

Hello! I've been wanting to join a read-a-thon and this seemed like a perfect opportunity! I still have school and all that suff, blah. But I hope to read as much as I can between everything that will be happening. Plus, this is a good idea to start those series I've been avoiding. I'm excited! I only plan to read about 4 to 5 books. Kinda lame but I don't have every hour of the day, sadly. Here is my GOAL POST!

If you want to know more about this event!:

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Goals Post

Time Devoted to Reading

I will be reading whenever I can! Not so good but I do have other things I rather not attend during the weekdays. So I will be reading mostly on thy weekend!

My Goals

I want to finish at LEAST 4 to 5 books. I won't cry if I don't. I just want to see how this goes down. I might cry if I go past my goal (let's cross our fingers for 6)....

Books to Read

I know I'm going to get bored or  frustrated with some books so I will be including a variety in case I put one down. Oh yeah, let's get started!

☑Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J. K. Rowling (HOW DARE I NOT HAVE READ THIS YET)

☑Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K Rowling

☐Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

☐Looking for Alaska by John Green (This has been sitting on my shelf since forever)

☐The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

☐Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld

☐Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

☐The Dark Heroine by Abigail Gibbs

Comment: (5/5) I honestly thought it would take me a bit of time to grow on this genre because while I do read fantasy I am in love with contemporary. I was wrong. I could have not been more wrong. I was so drawn to this book I finished it so quickly. I love the characters and the plot and the setting and the writing style and the way everything would add up and EVERY THING ABOUT IT AH, honestly, I feel like I should have read this earlier. IT'S JUST SO GOOD.

SPOILER ALERT!

Throne of Glass

I'm not liking Celaena's character. So I thought she was going to be a stronger character but she's already feeling ashamed because she is dirty and in the presence of hot guys? Forget the fact that you just came from mines, no, lets oggle at these boys instead. And she is flattered that the Prince is even sparing her a glance? I feel like the love thing is out of her character already and I'm not even half way in. I really hope the love triangle isn't cliche. I really hope there will be some character development pretty soon. I love the setting and the plot is incredibly interesting. The main character is just frustrating me a bit too much.
